It’s that time of year again – Logan Square Neighborhood Association is throwing its 9th annual I Love Logan Square Party! All proceeds go to benefit LSNA, an unabashedly, 100% pro-immigrant, pro-equity, pro-justice neighborhood association that has been working for 56 years to equip residents to become the leaders that shape their neighborhoods. In this political moment, LSNA’s powerful work around immigration, education, health, housing and youth is needed now more than ever. LSNA works to support ALL of our neighbors – especially the long-term immigrant families, for whom Logan Square has been home for decades – and we are working to turn Logan Square into a sanctuary neighborhood where values of love, restoration, connection, culture and empowerment are practiced.
If you’ve been asking yourself what you can do in this time of fragmentation, this is the party for you. With great food from LSNA leaders, brews from our best local breweries, tunes/dancing, and our signature auction, featuring unique goods and services from our neighborhoods best businesses and residents, this year’s party promises to be not just fun, but also an act of resistance. It will also be a chance to hear from LSNA leaders about the work they are doing and the ways that everyone can be involved in the fight for justice and equality in our community.
This year’s party is happening at the beautiful Segundo Ruiz Belvis Center, which is located at 4046 W Armitage Ave. The longest-standing Latino cultural center in Chicago, Segundo Ruiz is named after a Puerto Rican activist and is a beautiful community space.
