Hubbard Street Dance Chicago: One Thousand Pieces

December 12, 2013 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Return to what the Chicago Tribune calls “dance heaven”: the full-length, full-company One Thousand Pieces, inspired by Marc Chagall’s America Windows. Choreography by Alejandro Cerrudo illuminates music by Philip Glass.

Back by popular demand, Hubbard Street’s first standalone production, created for the combined ensembles of its main company and Hubbard Street 2, opened the Landmark 35th Anniversary Season to critical acclaim (★★★★, Chicago Tribune). A singular vision in the blue tones of Chagall’s Windows, One Thousand Pieces features lighting by Michael Korsch, and sets and costumes by German designer Thomas Mika, whose prior collaborators in dance include John Cranko, Derek Deane and Kevin O’Day.
