All over the world, rail transportation is experiencing a revival as part of the solution to transit challenges, and Spain is leading the way with its high-speed rail (HSR) technology.

This roundtable showcases the positive changes HSR has brought to Spain and how America’s urban areas can benefit from these “trains to the future.” Moderated by Commissioner María Jesús Fernández of the Trade Commission of Spain in Chicago, the panel includes Illinois State Representative Elaine Nekritz; Rick Harnish of the Midwest High Speed Rail Association; and Juan Matías Archilla of RENFE, Spain’s national railway company.
