Haiku Hootenany-Benefit Bash

May 21, 2012 @ 7:00 pm - 12:00 am

Join Theater Wit’s first annual Wit Bash benefit – celebrating 9 years of exceptional theater and the second year of Chicago’s best intimate, Chicago-style storefront experience.

If you’re wondering how Haikus and Hootenannies fit together, picture, if you can, original poems written by well-known artists and celebrities. Then picture these one-of-a-kind items surrounded by opportunities to do or have something fun.

Wondering what might be in store for you at the event?

Cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres featuring specialty concoctions by famed TW bartendress, Majel Cuza:
The Haiku (a Manhatten-like drink with a secret ingredient)
A pear saketini
The Lunch Bucket (you wish you could find it in every barn across America)
Yummy Goose Island Beer.

Americana/Bluegrass music

A return our Theatrical Disaster Standup. Join some of Chicago’s performance community as they recount true stories of Theatrical Mishaps and Disasters. A refreshing Schadenfreude-chaser for your Monday.

An auction featuring the magic mentioned above.

On-the-spot-personalized Haikus by Greg Allen, Founding Director at the Neo-Futurists.

A photo booth to document this unforgettable evening.

Flash mob line dancing.

There’s probably some hay.

Perhaps a fiddle.
