Grabadolandia Printmaking Festival

Instituto Gráfico de Chicago (IGC), a grassroots printing collective from the Pilsen neighborhood, is putting on their 5th annual printmaking festival.

GRABADOLANDIA is a family friendly weekend event for all ages. Come learn what printmaking is all about from some of the best printmakers in Chicago and beyond. Artists and printing presses will be demonstrating, displaying, and selling handcrafted prints. This will be an interactive weekend of creating and sharing at GRABADOLANDIA.

HOOFPRINT WORKSHOP
Location: 2433 S Oakley Avenue
Time: 10AM – 12pm
Featuring guest artist Shinzaburo Takeda from Oaxaca, Mexico will conduct a print demonstration.

PILSEN OUTPOST WORKSHOP
Location: 1958 W 21st Street
Time: 12:30PM – 2PM
Artists Vanessa Sanchez and Jose Luis Gutierrez will demonstrate how to make prints with household items.

THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OR MEXICAN ART
Location: 1852 W. 19th Street.
Time: 2PM – 4PM
Artists talk featuring Rene Arceo from Chicago, IL/Michoacán, Mexico and Shinzaburo Takeda from Oaxaca, Mexico.

PILSEN OUTPOST
Location: 1958 W 21st Street
Time: 7:30PM – 10PM
Memento Mori – Day of the Dead Print Exhibit / After party
