Explore Clybourne Park with ‘A Raisin in the Sun’

October 9, 2011 @ 5:00 pm - 12:00 am

Free

Lively discussion, snacks & drinks!

Bruce Norris’s play Clybourne Park depicts events before and after the purchase of the Younger family home in Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun. Whether you’re a longtime admirer of Raisin, or if it will be your first time hearing the play, actors will bring the conflict surrounding the house to life and take your understanding of Norris’s story to a new level. After the reading, co-editors of the Reimagining Raisin in the Sun anthology Rebecca Rugg (Steppenwolf Artistic Producer) and Harvey Young, Jr. (Northwestern theatre professor and authority on African American culture) will tie it all together in a facilitated dialogue.
