This is a three week long class led by artist and CHIPRC instructor Dean Johnson. He will explore the connection artists have made through the centuries between dreams and art.
Week one, the first session will be a one-hour lecture about dreams in art history with examples of work from artists and the instructor. Students will spend the following week writing down and sketching dreams.
Week two, the second session will be a two-hour studio session where students will bring their own dreams and drawing materials. The class will talk about dreams, brainstorm, and work together on developing visual interpretation of the dreams.
Week three, will be a two hour session that builds upon the second session. There will be a discussion about what’s been learned through the process, how dreams changed the art, and the art changed the dreams. Studio time will follow.
This three session workshop will be $25.
