Mixing indie-rock with environmental activism, Cloud Cult’s moving, open-hearted songs are a call to action towards a greener world. Opening the night with their collaborative music, Judson Claiborne is the solo and band name of Low Skies frontman Christopher C. Salveter on guitar and vocals, with Ryan Boyles on bass, Jamie Cater on drums, Bill Mackay on guitar and vocals, Donny Mahlmeister on keys and Angela James on vocals.
Cloud Cult is an experimental indie rock band from Minneapolis led by singer/songwriter Craig Minowa. Since 1995, they have crafted sprawling, cathartic albums that have won them the attention of the New York Times, MTV, Spin, Billboard and a devoted following of fans. As one of the pioneering “green bands” of the modern indie-rock world, Cloud Cult has backed up their music with green action for over a decade.
Judson Claiborne’s songs are mostly narratives about strange and beautiful travels, encounters, adventures, family, lovers and dreams. Since founding his band, Judson Claiborne has had the honor of sharing a stage with Andrew Bird, Cass McCombs, Shannon Wright, The Cave Singers, Grant Lee Phillips, Haley Bonar, Freakwater and Jana Hunter.
