April 8, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon of crafting and create your own 5″x7″ mosaic using aluminum cans. Norma Rios-Sierra, of MosaicoArte, will guide participants as they cut recycled aluminum cans and tack the pieces into place to create a beautiful piece of sustainable art! All supplies and materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own unique or colorful cans to incorporate into your piece.

Norma D Rios-Sierra received her Bachelor of Art History degree from Columbia College Chicago in 2009. She has lived in San Luis Potosi, Mex., San Diego, Calif. and most recently McAllen, Texas.

She was first introduced to stained glass art while working as a translator at a stained glass factory in Mexico. Her work consists mostly of stained glass mosaic featuring bold images inspired by iconic Mexican imagery, textiles and embroidery.

She currently teaches workshops at her studio, Mosaico Arte Chicago, in Logan Square.
