Deolinda WMF2010

Deolinda is not your typical Portuguese fado band. Inspired by the tradition of Portugal’s famous lamentful fado songs, Deolinda breathes new life and lightheartedness into the genre by combining classic fado elements with popular music.

They respectfully challenge this age old tradition not only musically, but also with lyrics filled of witty anecdotes and quirky snapshots of life in Lisbon. The group consists of Zé Pedro Leitão playing doublebass, brothers Pedro da Silva and Luís José Martins on classical guitars, and their charismatic cousin Ana Bacalhau on vocals.
