Delfos Danza Contemporánea Brings 20th Anniversary Season to Chicago.
The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago welcomes back Delfos Danza Contemporánea to celebrate its 20th anniversary season with performances April 4–6 at The Dance Center. The company also participates in The Dance Center’s 14th season of FamilyDance Matinees Saturday, April 6, including a free movement workshop with the artists followed by a family-friendly performance.
Steeped in saturated color and magic realism, the company’s 20th anniversary program includes mixed repertoire under the banner Resonancias. According to Co-Artistic Directors Claudia Lavista and Victor Manuel Ruiz, “The concert is a poetic/choreographic anthology of paths that we have trod at different moments in our history, both as a dance company and as creators, and is made up of seven different dances that appear before us as manifestations of our identities, desires, certainties and uncertainties. Each of these dances explores the deeply personal relationship between the self and its reflection, in this case: the audience.”
