Craft/Work – Community: Art, Activism and Politics

Join Craft/Work and Beauty & Brawn Art Gallery and Think Space for this round table discussion and hands on workshop.

Featuring local artists and activists Thelma Uranga and Nicole Marroquin and moderated by Rachel Wallis this discussion will address the unique roles art and craft play in building community and engaging in movements for social justice.

The roundtable discussion will be followed by a hands on embroidery workshop, led by members of El Stitch y Bitch. Materials will be provided and all experience levels are welcome.

The discussion and workshop is free and open to the public!

Craft/Work is a month long exhibit that aims to jump-start a conversation between Art and Craft. The project will include a series of six bi-weekly lectures and demonstrations by participating artists/crafters. January – May 2014
