SAM.KIRK has had a guilty, fanatical, “can’t-live without-you,” on-going, messy, obsessive, passionate, gut-wrenching, LOVE affair with ART since she was old enough to draw on walls (seriously, ask her mom).
“Common Ground” is an exhibition featuring 3 local Chicago artists that live and work in different neighborhoods of the city. Their styles reflect their urban surroundings and comment on the specifics of culture, politics and environment. This exhibition part of Chicago Artists Month and the “City as Studio” theme!
The exhibition runs September 27th – November 17th with an opening reception on Friday, October 1st from 6-10pm. A T-Shirt/Graffiti Art workshop on October 15th from 5-8pm, and a Live Sketch Event on October 23rd from 5-10pm. The closing reception is on Friday, November 12th from 6-9pm.
