Co-struggling: Thinking it Through Across Communities of Color

November 22, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Have white supremacy on your mind? In the wake of this election, this event is an opportunity to come together across communities of color to address how we will face white supremacy. We will explore how white supremacy might be replicated through our movements AND how we can intentionally move away from harmful strategies and find new ways to struggle together for liberation.

Some questions we are thinking of are:
In what ways could our strategies for survival and struggle perpetuate white supremacy?
How does this feed other systems of oppression?
How can we build up our communities in ways that don’t uphold white supremacy?
How can we seize this moment to build stronger and more effective coalitions across movements and identities?

Come with questions and come with ideas. Tell us what has worked and hasn’t. Tell us what you need and listen to the needs of others.

This event is co-hosted by Black on Both Sides, Free Write Arts & Literacy, and Mijente.
Accessibility: There is one step to get to the bathrooms.
Food: There will be food and refreshments. Vegetarian friendly.
Childcare: Please let us know the ages of the children you are bringing.
