Ecuador, 2010, 65 min.
Director: Gabriela Calvache

Each city has its own secrets, but it’s inside the houses, after their silent walls are built that they hide the most intense and human secrets. The Casa del Alabado was built in 1671 as part of the historical center of Quito and has survived changes over time. But within the walls of this extraordinary architecture, hides the tragic history of the indigenous masses. The masons who restored the Casa del Alabado move us as they narrate their lives and aspirations with humor. Labranza Oculta is a documentary about the lives trapped within the walls of history.
