The Chinese Fine Arts Society Presents: Rhythms of China

Explore the world of Chinese music with traditional and contemporary chamber music for strings, woodwinds, percussion, piano, chorus and Chinese instruments.

This concert features the world premiere of Zhou Long’s Rhyme of Taigu III” for cello, saxophone, and two percussionists, the Chicago premiere of Neil Rolnick’s Economic Engine for pipa, erhu, yangqin, guzheng and string quartet, and other traditional and contemporary Chinese masterpieces by award winning composers Tan Dun and Gu Guan Ren. Pipa master Yang Wei, and members of Third Coast Percussion, Spektral Quartet, Amethyst Quartet and Dal Niente will perform. The dynamic Cheng Da Percussion Ensemble and CFAS Chorus open the concert.
