Cartoons have a long and storied history as artistic devices to make a political point, make a social commentary or critique, or simply to poke fun at a person in particular, or society in general.
For this exhibit, Carlos & Dominguez Fine Arts Gallery asked Eric J. Garcia, who has developed into one of Chicago’s noted political cartoonist, to curate a show featuring cartoons that were in the finest traditions of what I will call, “Cartoons with a Conscience.”
This exhibit is presented as our gallery’s entry into this year’s 18th Street Pilsen Open Studios weekend event.
The artist exhibiting in this unique exhibit will be:
Eric J. Garcia
Of course, there will be food and refreshments during this weekend event.
