Caibana Flamenco

February 18, 2011 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The newest fusion of the sounds of Flamenco and Cuba! A match made in heaven, nurtured in the warm sun of Andalucia and Havana. Come experience this nonstop danceable stream of Latin sounds, guaranteed to warm up the Chicago winter!
Caibana, created by flamenco guitarist + composer Roberto Castellon, is a flamenco-latin fusion band based in New York City. The name “Caibana” comes from the combination of Cai (Cadiz), the oldest city in Spain and La Habana, Cuba (a city made by Spain to resemble Cadiz.) Caibana’s music is the result of the fusion of these two cultures, and of flamenco and cuban music. Caibana is known for its enticing sounds and rhythms that fuse Afro-Cuban, Latin jazz and flamenco deep songs (Cante Jondo) into original music.
