Brew-Ja Crawl Returns to Pilsen October 27th

The 3rd Annual Brew-Ja Crawl will roll through Pilsen on October 27th to support the year-long fundraising and awareness mission of the community’s main event that takes place each August, Pilsen Fest. Tickets are now on sale through BrownPaperTickets.com.
From the organizers of Pilsen Cantina Crawl comes Brew-Ja Crawl, a Day of the Dead-inspired tour of the neighborhood’s exciting beer, food and music scenes. Guests are encouraged to wear their most creative costumes and board trolleys that will transport them to 14 unique bars and restaurants throughout the Pilsen neighborhood for a day of drinking, eating, shopping and other shenanigans.

“In staying true to Pilsen Fest’s ‘one village, one sound’ message,” said Pilsen Fest Director Esmirna García. “Brew-Ja Crawl raises the curtain and shows you firsthand how a wide-range of exceptional flavors and businesses unite to represent our colorful community.”

Ticket holders will receive the following from each of the 14-participating venues: one craft beer or hand-spun cocktail, live music and DJs, drink and food specials, and unlimited access to trolleys up and down 18th Street to take in the “sips and sounds of Pilsen’s finest.” Furthermore, those who don their favorite Halloween/Day of the Dead duds will have a chance at winning prizes as voted on by the public. Whether it’s a horrifying or a fashionable ensemble, all who dress the part will be in the running. Guests are encouraged to come early, stay late and enjoy the shops, restaurants and charms of the Pilsen community.

At the end of the day, Brew-Ja Crawl is a showcase of the vibrant personalities and tastes of Pilsen. “Our biggest neighborhood display happens in August at Pilsen Fest, however throughout the year we have many supporting cultural experiences like Brew-Ja Crawl that continue to spread our message,” added Esmirna. Pilsen Fest is a major arts production and a tool to empower the Latino community through cultural programming. It also functions as business incubator, developing at least 10 new vendors every year.

Brew-Ja Crawl is 21-and-over event; ID’s will be needed at check-in for admittance. Street parking is limited, guests are urged to take the CTA. Pilsen and participating Brew-Ja Crawl locations are easily accessible by CTA Pink Line, CTA Bus #18 and CTA Bus #60 (Blue Island). Event “jump-on jump-off” trolleys will be available for all ticket holders.
