Kings, Queens, and Courtiers: Art in Early Renaissance France
In English, with curator Martha Wolff from the Art Institute of Chicago

Preview the Art Institute of Chicago latest exhibition! Martha Wolff, the Eleanor Wood Prince Curator of European Painting before 1750, explains how France entered an age of expansion and creative energy after two young kings, Charles VIII and Louis XII, pursued dynastic claims and dreams of glory by invading Italy. The result: an exuberant and elegant fusion of the flamboyant Gothic art of northern Europe with the Italian Art of the Renaissance. Catalogue available after the talk.
