Chota Madre is a cultural movement on a mission to introduce the world to the Afro-Ecuadoran style of music known as Bomba (not to be confused with Puerto Rican Bomba) from the Chota Valley of Ecuador. This unique style of music was born out of the blending of African, European, and indigenous communities in Ecuador and named after the Afro-Ecuadoran percussion instrument of the same name. Join Chota Madre for their Chicago debut as they present a modern take on this traditional rhythm using guitar, requinto, guiro, and vocals.
