In the past 4 years, the AAAN Youth Organizing Program has been organizing to end racial profiling as it affects the Arab and Muslim Community and connecting it to struggles of other oppressed nationalities in the Chicagoland area. Four years ago the youth program created a survey about interactions with law enforcement and distrubuted it to the community in which 450 people participated. The results recieved showed obvious patterns of racial profiling against our community. The F.B.I. has used methods such as entrapement, the use of Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), and placing informants in community spaces which has resulted in the targetting of our community on a mass scale. The AAAN Youth say Enough is Enough!
Join the Arab American Action Network’s (AAAN) Youth Organizing Program as they hand deliver a letter to the F.B.I Director demanding an end to the use of SARs and the Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) programs and hold a press conference outside of the F.B.I Field Office of Chicago (2111 W Roosevelt Rd. Chicago, IL.) on Thursday, August 18th, at 4:30 pm.
