Johnny Blass, Afinca’o and Sonorama celebrate Cuba, Puerto Rico and Colombia

When it comes to dance music from the Caribbean, Cuba and Puerto Rico have always been at the forefront of innovation. For one of the final installments of 77 Beats, two of Chicago’s top Afro-Caribbean groups come together like never before for a celebration of tropical music from the largest land in the Antilles and the Island of Enchantment. From Jazz to Salsa by way of Cuba, Puerto Rico and Chicago, join Afinca’o and Johnny Blass as we take you on a musical trip to the Caribbean without leaving the Windy City. Colombia, the salsa super power of South America will be represented through its delicious food and vintage records played by Sonorama.
