6th Annual “Beautiful Souls Coffin” Show
Presented by Mujeres Mutantes
in partnership with The Port Ministries at 4Art Space in Zhou B Arts Center
This annual event is a multicultural fusion of the Mexican holiday, Dia de Los Muertos/Day of the Dead and the American holiday of Halloween. Each year artists from painters to poets, and community members are invited to paint, decorate, and or create a mini altar using the 12 X 18 coffin. The show has grown from 13 to 50 mini coffins and is a way to connect with our loved ones and express ourselves through art. This exhibition aims to celebrate the sacred that is within and honor the divine in those who have inspired us or to whom we have lost to the nature of our world.
Opening Reception is the 3rd Friday of November 18th 2016 from 6pm to 10pm at 4Arts Space on the 4th floor of the Zhou B Art Center
