50 Years of Verde Luz: Chicago Tribute to El Topo

A group of local musicians with strong ties to SRBCC lead by Roy McGrath pay tribute to Antonio Cabán Vale, one of Puerto Rico’s most iconic Nueva Trova singers/composers, celebrating the 50th Anniversary of his classic “Verde luz”. El Topo will be present for a Meet & Greet with SRBCC instructors, music students and community members.

50 Years of Verde Luz is also a major concert (8/6/17) produced by ArtBiz Inc. Check out the concert promo and buy tickets here. You may also buy $25-priced tickets at SRBCC and support our programs.

SRBCC was awarded the 2016-17 Strengthening Artistic and Cultural Diversity Grant of the Chicago Community Trust for a music series titled “Las Caras Lindas”. The series explores traditional and progressive takes on Afro-Caribbean Music seen through performances of local and touring groups.
