The stars are shining bright on Opening Night of the 49th Chicago International Film Festival at the Chicago Theatre, Chicago’s legendary landmark theater.

For one night only, the Chicago International Film Festival recaptures the glory of one of America’s fist, lavish movie palaces with state of the art film projection and red carpet arrivals. Join us as we celebrate the glamour of going to the movies and the opening of the Festival!

On Opening Night we will be presenting the Chicago premiere of James Gray’s THE IMMIGRANT, starring Academy Award-winning actress Marion Cotillard, Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner. Director/producer/writer James Gray will be in attendance.

Evening Program:
October 10, 2013
The Chicago Theatre, 175 N. State Street
6PM: Red carpet arrivals
7PM: Guest presentation with host, award-winning journalist Bill Kurtis, and screening of THE IMMIGRANT

Reception*:
The Chicago Cultural Center (Preston Bradley Hall), 77 E. Randolph Street
9:30PM – 11:30PM: Cockail reception with hors d’oeuvres
*Business attire. Wristband required for entry
