Ely Guerra visited Chicago for a one off show at Navy Pier for the National Museum of Mexican Art’s Sor Juana Festival in honor of Mexican women in the arts. Refreshingly humble and polite, Guerra was nothing like her name would have you believe. In the elegant presence of an icon of Mexican contemporary music, we spoke of what art means for her, what Sor Juana means for her and her unmistakable innovation when it comes to style.
