Book Presentation: Discussion with Silvia Ballestra, Woman and Literature in Italy Today
Writer Silvia Ballestra will read passages from her novels and discuss the role of women in Italian society today. Silvia Ballestra made her debut in 1991 with “Birthday of the Iguana,” and since then her novels have become bestsellers in Italy and have been translated into many languages. Her novel, “La Guerra degli Anto,” was made into a film by Riccardo Milani (1999). Ballestra lives and works in Milan, where she also writes for the newspaper “l’Unita.”
